Course Description
VMware vSphere Foundation – Build, Manage, Operate[V9.0] FT develops practical capability for a vSphere Foundation 9.0 environment that is deliberately built, integrated with operations visibility, managed through resilient clusters and shared storage, and maintained through secure lifecycle and incident practices. The learning path begins with foundation 9.0 architecture, licensing, prerequisites, and deployment design and progresses through hosts, vcenter, clusters, networking, nfs, iscsi, and vm lifecycle, keeping architecture, access, dependencies, and measurable acceptance connected.
Applied work is situated in a greenfield private-infrastructure deployment that must combine virtualization services with VCF Operations visibility while supporting NFS, iSCSI, mobility, and controlled growth. Participants then address vcf operations, inventory, alerts, capacity, performance, ha, drs, and mobility and security, lifecycle, backup, troubleshooting, recovery, and handover, using Foundation architecture blueprint and deployment-readiness gate, Foundation build workbook and storage-network acceptance test, operations dashboard and cluster-behavior validation, and Foundation security baseline and lifecycle-recovery runbook to compare intended design with observed behavior.
By completion, learners can implement, validate, troubleshoot, and hand over the course workflows with defensible evidence. The final operating record identifies unresolved risks, monitoring requirements, recovery actions, owners, and the next controlled improvement.
What You Will Learn
- Decompose vSphere Foundation components, version 9.0 platform concepts, VCF Operations integration into roles, prerequisites, decision points, and measurable acceptance criteria.
- Configure management services, network prerequisites, storage prerequisites, identity and access planning, deployment design review and substantiate the result with Foundation architecture blueprint and deployment-readiness gate.
- Carry out host and vCenter build, cluster configuration, standard and distributed networking while documenting effective state, downstream effects, and a safe reversal point.
- Read Foundation build workbook and storage-network acceptance test to locate why “iSCSI paths appearing present while all traffic uses a single unintended VMkernel route” occurred and select the smallest defensible correction.
- Align VCF Operations user interface, inventory and object relationships, health and alerts with governance, availability, security, scale, and lifecycle expectations.
- Stress vSphere HA, vSphere DRS, vMotion, resource balancing, operational policy review using representative users, traffic, failures, and recovery steps, then document exceptions.
- Diagnose “an upgrade precheck passing technically while the rollback backup remains unverified” by checking ownership, connectivity, health, logs, and timing in a deliberate order.
- Close the work with Foundation security baseline and lifecycle-recovery runbook, a support handoff, unresolved-action owners, and a verified rollback route.
SkillDynamo Training Approach
The fast-track labs connect platform construction to daily operations: learners build core services, observe them in VCF Operations, induce controlled faults, and document recovery. Delivery includes instructor demonstrations, guided exercises, scenario comparison, validation checklists, structured troubleshooting, and an evidence-backed improvement plan.
