Course Description

VMware Technical Solutions Professional (VTSP) develops practical capability for a technically credible customer conversation that connects VMware portfolio capabilities to business outcomes, discovery evidence, architecture choices, implementation risk, and a clear transition from pre-sales to delivery. The learning path begins with vmware portfolio, customer outcomes, and discovery foundations and progresses through solution positioning across vsphere, vcf, vsan, nsx, euc, and cloud, keeping architecture, access, dependencies, and measurable acceptance connected.

Applied work is situated in a customer evaluating private cloud modernization, workload mobility, resilience, security, and operational efficiency with competing priorities and incomplete requirements. Participants then address technical discovery, architecture choices, risks, and trade-offs and demonstration, value narrative, objections, and delivery handoff, using customer discovery brief and outcome-to-capability map, solution-positioning matrix and qualified use-case shortlist, technical solution outline and assumption-risk register, and customer-ready solution brief and delivery-handoff checklist to compare intended design with observed behavior.

By completion, learners can implement, validate, troubleshoot, and hand over the course workflows with defensible evidence. The final operating record identifies unresolved risks, monitoring requirements, recovery actions, owners, and the next controlled improvement.

What You Will Learn

• Decompose virtualization and private-cloud outcomes, VMware portfolio orientation, customer roles and buying concerns into roles, prerequisites, decision points, and measurable acceptance criteria.
• Configure current-state discovery, service-level needs, licensing and subscription context, success measures, discovery-question planning and substantiate the result with customer discovery brief and outcome-to-capability map.
• Carry out vSphere positioning, VMware Cloud Foundation value, vSAN use cases while documenting effective state, downstream effects, and a safe reversal point.
• Read solution-positioning matrix and qualified use-case shortlist to locate why “a platform being positioned for a workload whose availability and latency needs were never tested” occurred and select the smallest defensible correction.
• Align requirements classification, constraints and assumptions, architecture diagrams with governance, availability, security, scale, and lifecycle expectations.
• Stress security boundaries, migration approach, operational model, risk ownership, alternative comparison using representative users, traffic, failures, and recovery steps, then document exceptions.
