Course Description
Azure VMware Solution: Networking develops practical capability for a resilient AVS network design that connects on-premises sites, Azure services, multiple private clouds, extended workload networks, and controlled internet paths with traceable routing and security decisions. The learning path begins with avs network architecture, addressing, expressroute, and route planning and progresses through on-premises connectivity, global reach, vpn, and security boundaries, keeping architecture, access, dependencies, and measurable acceptance connected.
Applied work is situated in a hybrid application estate with overlapping teams, segmented environments, migration waves, and strict requirements for predictable north-south and east-west traffic. Participants then address nsx segments, gateways, multiple private clouds, and hcx extension and internet connectivity, port mirroring, observability, and troubleshooting, using AVS network architecture diagram and route-intent matrix, hybrid connectivity test pack and approved firewall-flow record, NSX path validation and HCX extension acceptance sheet, and traffic-observability report and AVS network troubleshooting runbook to compare intended design with observed behavior.
By completion, learners can implement, validate, troubleshoot, and hand over the course workflows with defensible evidence. The final operating record identifies unresolved risks, monitoring requirements, recovery actions, owners, and the next controlled improvement.
What You Will Learn
- Frame AVS network building blocks, private-cloud ExpressRoute circuit, IP address-space planning as explicit design decisions and record the assumptions that could alter the result.
- Build and verify route propagation, DNS dependencies, management-network reachability, segmentation requirements, network readiness review; preserve the outcome in AVS network architecture diagram and route-intent matrix.
- Sequence ExpressRoute Global Reach, on-premises edge connectivity, VPN fallback patterns so prerequisites, access, dependencies, and service impact remain visible throughout the change.
- Trace “a route filter allowing management traffic while silently dropping application return paths” through hybrid connectivity test pack and approved firewall-flow record, isolate the earliest divergence, and retest the corrected path.
- Connect NSX segments, tier gateways, DHCP and DNS services with capacity, security, resilience, and the operating model expected after handover.
- Challenge multiple private clouds, HCX network extension, mobility optimized networking, segment security, extended-network validation with normal, boundary, and recovery cases, then explain why the accepted state is supportable.
- Correlate configuration, logs, path behavior, and recent changes when diagnosing “internet egress functioning for test workloads but bypassing the approved inspection path”.
- Deliver traffic-observability report and AVS network troubleshooting runbook with rollback conditions, ownership, monitoring needs, and the next controlled improvement.
SkillDynamo Training Approach
The workshop uses route tables, packet paths, NSX topology, HCX extensions, and mirrored traffic to prove each connectivity pattern rather than accepting configuration status alone. Delivery includes instructor demonstrations, guided exercises, scenario comparison, validation checklists, structured troubleshooting, and an evidence-backed improvement plan.
