Course Description
VMware Telco Cloud Automation: Install, Configure, Manage [V1.8] develops hands-on understanding of Telco cloud concepts, TCA architecture, appliance roles, management and workload domains, TCA installation, vCenter and NSX integrations, cloud registrations. Learners move from requirements and dependencies to implementation, validation, troubleshooting, and supportable VMware operations.
Later lessons examine Network function catalogs, CSAR packages, descriptors, workflows, Alarms, logs, topology. Participants use TCA deployment blueprint and prerequisite readiness record, platform installation evidence and connected-cloud acceptance test, network-function lifecycle trace and policy execution record, TCA operations runbook and incident-response checklist to distinguish configuration, access, network, storage, performance, and lifecycle issues rather than treating them as one generic failure.
After the four lessons, learners can help establish a managed Telco Cloud Automation platform that onboards cloud infrastructure, orchestrates network functions, applies intent-based workflows, and supports auditable lifecycle operations. They also document follow-up actions for performance, security, lifecycle, support, and adoption.
What You Will Learn
- Explain how Telco cloud concepts, TCA architecture, and appliance roles establish the technical foundation and influence later design decisions.
- Configure management and workload domains, Kubernetes infrastructure, network functions, prerequisites, DNS, NTP, certificates, and sizing, then confirm readiness through TCA deployment blueprint and prerequisite readiness record instead of relying on completion messages alone.
- Execute a controlled workflow covering TCA installation, vCenter and NSX integrations, and cloud registrations, preserving prerequisites, changes, and resulting service behavior.
- Read platform installation evidence and connected-cloud acceptance test to isolate a registered cloud remaining unavailable because the service account lacks inventory privileges, separate symptoms from causes, and choose a correction that can be safely retested.
- Integrate Network function catalogs, CSAR packages, and descriptors with access, capacity, resilience, and downstream operational expectations.
- Challenge workflows, instantiation, placement, scaling, healing, upgrades, termination, and intent policies using normal and boundary cases, then defend the outcome with network-function lifecycle trace and policy execution record.
- Investigate a failed lifecycle task being retried without clearing the original orchestration lock by reviewing Alarms, logs, and topology before applying a reversible fix.
- Prepare TCA operations runbook and incident-response checklist that demonstrates task histories, failure recovery, backup, upgrades, access control, API use, troubleshooting, and operations handover and supports handover, monitoring, governance, and the next improvement decision.
SkillDynamo Training Approach
Training uses instructor walkthroughs, hands-on implementation, role-based exercises, boundary testing, troubleshooting drills, review checkpoints, and structured handover. Learners practise explaining why a result is acceptable rather than merely showing that a task completed.
