Course Description
VMware Horizon Cloud Service Next Gen on Microsoft Azure: Deploy and Manage develops practical capability for a managed Horizon Cloud next-generation deployment on Microsoft Azure with validated provider capacity, identity, images, desktops, applications, profile services, secure access, scaling, monitoring, and support workflows. The learning path begins with service architecture, azure prerequisites, licensing, identity, and network readiness and progresses through provider and edge deployment, connectivity, identity, and health validation, keeping architecture, access, dependencies, and measurable acceptance connected.
Applied work is situated in a distributed workforce requiring persistent application settings, elastic desktop capacity, secure external access, and consistent user experience across Azure regions. Participants then address images, desktop pools, farms, app volumes, dem, and entitlements and scaling, monitoring, security, troubleshooting, continuity, and handover, using Horizon Cloud architecture map and Azure readiness assessment, provider-edge deployment record and identity-path acceptance test, desktop-and-application publication test with persona validation, and Horizon Cloud operations dashboard and support-handover pack to compare intended design with observed behavior.
By completion, learners can implement, validate, troubleshoot, and hand over the course workflows with defensible evidence. The final operating record identifies unresolved risks, monitoring requirements, recovery actions, owners, and the next controlled improvement.
What You Will Learn
- Frame next-generation Horizon Cloud architecture, control-plane and edge roles, Azure subscription requirements as explicit design decisions and record the assumptions that could alter the result.
- Build and verify identity and directory prerequisites, network topology, DNS and certificates, security boundaries, deployment readiness; preserve the outcome in Horizon Cloud architecture map and Azure readiness assessment.
- Sequence provider onboarding, edge deployment, Azure resource creation so prerequisites, access, dependencies, and service impact remain visible throughout the change.
- Trace “directory synchronization succeeding while user authentication fails through the external access path” through provider-edge deployment record and identity-path acceptance test, isolate the earliest divergence, and retest the corrected path.
- Connect gold-image preparation, image publishing, desktop pools with capacity, security, resilience, and the operating model expected after handover.
- Challenge Dynamic Environment Manager profiles, entitlements, assignment policies, user-session validation, image and application lifecycle with normal, boundary, and recovery cases, then explain why the accepted state is supportable.
- Correlate configuration, logs, path behavior, and recent changes when diagnosing “autoscaling adding capacity after the login surge has already breached the user-experience target”.
- Deliver Horizon Cloud operations dashboard and support-handover pack with rollback conditions, ownership, monitoring needs, and the next controlled improvement.
SkillDynamo Training Approach
Learners validate prerequisites, deploy provider and edge components, publish images and entitlements, test representative user journeys, and close with optimization and incident drills. Delivery includes instructor demonstrations, guided exercises, scenario comparison, validation checklists, structured troubleshooting, and an evidence-backed improvement plan.
