Course Description
Terraform with Oracle Cloud develops practical OCI infrastructure-as-code skills without adding a separate CI/CD product. Learners focus on the Oracle Cloud resource model and on writing Terraform that respects compartments, regions, identity, quotas, and service dependencies.
The course covers VCN design, compute, block and object storage, IAM policies, managed database concepts, data sources, modules, remote state, import, drift, and controlled lifecycle actions.
The final project creates an OCI application foundation and an operator guide for planning changes, validating connectivity, handling quotas, and recovering from partial infrastructure updates.
What You Will Learn
- Design and implement Tenancy, compartments, regions, and availability domains for Terraform with Oracle Cloud.
- Validate OCI provider authentication choices, OCIDs, data sources, tags, and naming, and IAM policies, quotas, and deployment prerequisites through practical evidence and controlled change.
- Design and implement VCN and subnet CIDR design for Terraform with Oracle Cloud.
- Validate Route tables, internet, NAT, and service gateways, Security lists and network security groups, and DNS, private access, and connectivity tests through practical evidence and controlled change.
- Design and implement Compute shapes, images, metadata, and instance configuration for Terraform with Oracle Cloud.
- Validate Block volumes, object storage, and encryption choices, Managed database provisioning concepts and dependencies, and Module design, outputs, and service composition through practical evidence and controlled change.
- Design and implement Remote state and access control for Terraform with Oracle Cloud.
- Validate Importing OCI resources and stable addressing, Drift, replacement, lifecycle, and quota-aware change, and Monitoring outputs, recovery, documentation, and handoff through practical evidence and controlled change.
SkillDynamo Training Approach
Learners build one OCI environment as a sequence of independently testable layers. Each layer includes a quota or permission check and an OCI-specific validation step, preventing the course from becoming a generic Terraform syntax exercise.
