Course Description
Six Sigma Yellow Belt develops practical capability to contribute to Six Sigma improvement projects through DMAIC, basic process analysis, data collection, root-cause thinking, and control support. The four-lesson path moves from core principles and governance into applied controls, evidence, exceptions, and accountable improvement.
Applied work is based on a transaction-processing team reducing defects, cycle-time variation, rework, and customer complaints. Learners create Six Sigma opportunity and charter sheet, process baseline and measurement workbook, root-cause and improvement matrix, and control plan and project handover, while testing decisions against realistic operational constraints.
By completion, participants can interpret the subject, perform the relevant workflow, evaluate evidence, communicate supported conclusions, and hand over prioritized actions with clear ownership and follow-up.
What You Will Learn
- Explain Six Sigma principles, defects, and variation; measurably connect it to disciplined improvement thinking.
- Map customer requirements and project roles; measurably record evidence for clear project contribution.
- Evaluate DMAIC phases and deliverables; measurably test criteria supporting structured improvement participation.
- Apply charters, SIPOC, and process maps; measurably create evidence for well-defined project scope.
- Identify gaps in basic metrics and data collection; measurably protect credible performance baselines.
- Document root-cause tools and solution evaluation; measurably link decisions to evidence-based improvement.
- Resolve control plans and visual measures scenarios; measurably choose controls for sustained process gains.
- Present team communication and handover findings; measurably prioritize effective Yellow Belt support.
