Course Description
PECB CMMC Foundations (PECB) develops practical capability to understand CMMC concepts, scoping, practices, evidence, and assessment readiness for protecting federal contract information and CUI. The learning path begins with cmmc model, levels, domains, practices, assessment ecosystem, and accountability and progresses into fci, cui, assets, enclaves, boundaries, data flows, scoping, and documentation, connecting requirements and methods with clear ownership, defensible evidence, and measurable decisions.
Applied work is anchored to a defense supplier defining its CMMC boundary and preparing people, processes, technology, and evidence for assessment. Learners then address access, configuration, incident, media, personnel, physical, and system controls and evidence, self-assessment, ssp, poa&m, readiness review, and continual improvement, producing CMMC model and responsibility map, CUI scope and asset inventory, CMMC practice evidence matrix, assessment readiness and remediation plan.
By completion, participants can interpret the subject, perform the relevant workflow, evaluate exceptions, communicate supported conclusions, and hand over prioritized actions with named ownership and follow-up.
What You Will Learn
- Explain the CMMC model, maturity levels, domains, practices, assessments, and accountability structure.
- Differentiate Federal Contract Information from Controlled Unclassified Information and related protection expectations.
- Define assets, enclaves, boundaries, data flows, and documentation needed for accurate scoping.
- Recognize access, configuration, incident, media, personnel, physical, and system control requirements.
- Identify objective evidence that demonstrates consistent implementation of CMMC practices.
- Understand self-assessment, System Security Plans, Plans of Action, and readiness reviews.
- Evaluate common scoping and evidence gaps that can weaken assessment outcomes.
- Plan practical improvements that strengthen compliance readiness without disrupting business operations.
SkillDynamo Training Approach
Training follows CMMC readiness foundation work from context and planning through implementation, evidence review, exception analysis, validation, and improvement.
