Course Description
Azure DevOps + Terraform combines Azure infrastructure-as-code with the delivery controls available in Azure Repos and Azure Pipelines. Learners manage code, reviews, plans, approvals, and applies as one traceable process.
The course includes Git workflows, YAML pipelines, service connections, Terraform initialization, Azure remote state, plan artifacts, variables, environments, approvals, and post-deployment tests.
Learners finish with a multi-stage Azure DevOps pipeline that deploys Terraform to Azure while protecting credentials and ensuring the applied plan is the same plan that reviewers approved.
What You Will Learn
- Design and implement Git repositories and Terraform folder structure for Azure DevOps + Terraform.
- Validate Branch policies, pull requests, reviewers, and build validation, Environment configuration and reusable modules, and Work items, commits, ownership, and change traceability through practical evidence and controlled change.

- Validate Service connections and workload identity concepts, Pipeline variables, variable groups, and secrets, and Subscription, tenant, environment, and permission boundaries through practical evidence and controlled change.
- Design and implement Terraform tool installation and caching for Azure DevOps + Terraform.
- Validate fmt, validate, init, and plan stages, Publishing and consuming a saved plan artifact, and Azure DevOps environments, approvals, and protected apply through practical evidence and controlled change.
- Design and implement Azure resource validation and smoke tests for Azure DevOps + Terraform.
- Validate Pipeline logs, summaries, and deployment evidence, Drift detection, failed apply, and fix-forward decisions, and Notifications, retention, runbooks, and continuous improvement through practical evidence and controlled change.
