Course Description
EC-Council Certified Encryption Specialist v3 (ECES) develops practical capability in cryptographic concepts, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashes, digital signatures, PKI, certificates, protocols, key management, and operational assurance.
Learners progress through Cryptography Foundations, Mathematics, Randomness, Algorithms, and Threats; Symmetric Encryption, Hashes, MACs, Password Protection, and Integrity; Asymmetric Encryption, Digital Signatures, PKI, Certificates, and Trust; and Protocols, Key Lifecycle, Hardware Protection, Validation, and Governance. Each stage connects EC-Council concepts with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows a security engineer must select and operate cryptographic controls that protect data without creating unmanaged keys, weak configurations, or fragile dependencies and produces a practical cryptographic-design worksheet, key-lifecycle plan, certificate-validation evidence, and policy checklist for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Analyze cryptographic goals for ECES-v3; connect number concepts with ECES-v3 evidence and randomness.
- Improve algorithm selection in ECES-v3; test attack models against ECES-v3 records and security strength.
- Explain symmetric encryption across ECES-v3; compare modes of operation through ECES-v3 analysis and hash functions.
- Apply MACs during ECES-v3; trace password hashing into ECES-v3 findings and integrity controls.
- Interpret public-key cryptography around ECES-v3; verify digital signatures using ECES-v3 checks and PKI.
- Validate certificates through ECES-v3; challenge trust chains with ECES-v3 scenarios and revocation.
- Assess secure protocols for ECES-v3; isolate key generation via ECES-v3 evidence and key rotation.
- Implement HSM concepts within ECES-v3; hand over cryptographic validation beside ECES-v3 controls and governance.
