Course Description
Ethical Hacking Core Skills (EHCS) develops practical capability in authorized ethical-hacking methodology, attack-surface analysis, vulnerability validation, defensive testing, evidence, and remediation.
Learners progress through Ethics, Authorization, Threat Landscape, and Engagement Planning; Reconnaissance, Attack Surface Mapping, and Vulnerability Prioritization; Network, Web, Wireless, Cloud, and Human-Factor Security; and Reporting, Remediation Validation, and Continuous Security Improvement. Each stage connects EC-Council concepts with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows a security team must assess a defined environment under written authorization, protect operational stability, and convert findings into verified risk reduction and produces a practical ethical-hacking core lab journal, attack-surface map, findings worksheet, and remediation checklist for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Design professional ethics for EHCS; connect legal authorization with EHCS evidence and rules of engagement.
- Verify asset scope in EHCS; test risk assumptions against EHCS records and stakeholder communication.
- Prioritize passive discovery across EHCS; compare attack-surface inventory through EHCS analysis and vulnerability assessment.
- Coordinate false-positive review during EHCS; trace risk ranking into EHCS findings and test evidence.
- Analyze network exposure around EHCS; verify web application weaknesses using EHCS checks and wireless controls.
- Improve cloud misconfiguration through EHCS; challenge social-engineering defenses with EHCS scenarios and security monitoring.
- Explain evidence preservation for EHCS; isolate technical findings via EHCS evidence and executive reporting.
- Apply remediation planning within EHCS; hand over verification testing beside EHCS controls and lessons learned.
