Course Description
IoT Security Essentials (ISE) develops practical capability in IoT architecture, device and firmware security, identity, communications, cloud integration, monitoring, incident response, privacy, and lifecycle governance.
Learners progress through IoT Architecture, Devices, Gateways, Protocols, Data Flows, and Threat Models; Firmware, Identity, Authentication, Secure Boot, Updates, and Device Hardening; Network, Cloud, API, Data, Privacy, Monitoring, and Detection Controls; and Incident Response, Fleet Operations, Supply Chain, Compliance, and Lifecycle. Each stage connects EC-Council concepts with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows an IoT team must deploy connected devices at scale while protecting firmware, identities, data, communications, cloud services, and operational continuity and produces a practical IoT threat model, device-hardening checklist, monitoring evidence, and lifecycle security plan for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Distinguish IoT architecture for ISE; connect device classes with ISE evidence and gateways.
- Document protocols in ISE; test data flows against ISE records and threat modeling.
- Design firmware security across ISE; compare device identity through ISE analysis and authentication.
- Verify secure boot during ISE; trace signed updates into ISE findings and hardening.
- Prioritize network segmentation around ISE; verify cloud integration using ISE checks and API protection.
- Coordinate data security through ISE; challenge privacy with ISE scenarios and anomaly detection.
- Analyze incident response for ISE; isolate fleet operations via ISE evidence and supplier risk.
- Improve compliance within ISE; hand over decommissioning beside ISE controls and lifecycle governance.
SkillDynamo Training Approach
