Course Description
Certified Network Defender v3 (CND) develops practical capability in network-defense architecture, secure design, access control, hardening, monitoring, detection, incident response, validation, and operations.
Learners progress through Network Architecture, Assets, Protocols, Trust Zones, Baselines, and Risk; Segmentation, Firewalls, Secure Access, Wireless, Endpoint, and Cloud Controls; Monitoring, IDS/IPS, Logs, Detection, Investigation, and Threat Hunting; and Incident Response, Hardening, Validation, Metrics, and Operational Improvement. Each stage connects EC-Council concepts with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows a network defense team must protect hybrid connectivity, identify abnormal traffic, validate controls, and maintain service availability during response and produces a practical network-defense architecture, hardening checklist, monitoring cases, and response runbook for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Map network architecture for CND-v3; connect asset inventory with CND-v3 evidence and protocols.
- Evaluate trust zones in CND-v3; test traffic baselines against CND-v3 records and risk assessment.
- Distinguish segmentation across CND-v3; compare firewall policy through CND-v3 analysis and secure access.
- Document wireless security during CND-v3; trace endpoint controls into CND-v3 findings and cloud networking.
- Design network telemetry around CND-v3; verify IDS/IPS using CND-v3 checks and log analysis.
- Verify detection logic through CND-v3; challenge investigation with CND-v3 scenarios and threat hunting.
- Prioritize network response for CND-v3; isolate configuration hardening via CND-v3 evidence and control validation.
- Coordinate availability within CND-v3; hand over security metrics beside CND-v3 controls and improvement.
