Course Description
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt develops practical capability to support process improvement using Lean principles, DMAIC thinking, basic data tools, waste identification, and team participation. The four-lesson path moves from core principles and governance into applied controls, evidence, exceptions, and accountable improvement.
Applied work is based on a service operations team reducing delays, rework, errors, and customer handoff problems. Learners create improvement opportunity and SIPOC sheet, baseline process and data workbook, root-cause and solution selection matrix, and control and standard-work plan, while testing decisions against realistic operational constraints.
By completion, participants can interpret the subject, perform the relevant workflow, evaluate evidence, communicate supported conclusions, and hand over prioritized actions with clear ownership and follow-up.
What You Will Learn
- Explain Lean and Six Sigma principles; efficiently connect it to customer-focused improvement thinking.
- Map waste types and value streams; efficiently record evidence for visible process inefficiency.
- Evaluate DMAIC phases and team roles; efficiently test criteria supporting structured project participation.
- Apply problem statements, SIPOC, and process maps; efficiently create evidence for clear improvement scope.
- Identify gaps in basic data collection and measurement; efficiently protect credible process baselines.
- Document root-cause tools and solution priorities; efficiently link decisions to evidence-based improvement choices.
- Resolve control plans and visual management scenarios; efficiently choose controls for sustained operational gains.
- Present team communication and improvement support findings; efficiently prioritize effective Yellow Belt contribution.
