Course Description
S4F55 – Revenue Accounting and Reporting – Assisting with IFRS 15/US-GAAP ASC 606 develops the practical capability to configure revenue contracts, performance obligations, transaction prices, allocation, fulfillment, posting, transition, and disclosure support. The course connects SAP concepts with controlled execution, evidence-based decisions, and responsibilities that can be reviewed after implementation.
Applied work follows a finance transformation team implementing standardized revenue recognition for multi-element customer contracts under IFRS 15 and ASC 606. Learners create revenue contract and source-item workbook, allocation and modification evidence pack, revenue posting and close register, revenue compliance and operational handover plan. Scenario testing addresses realistic conditions including related source items fail to combine into the intended revenue contract; a contract modification reallocates revenue using an outdated standalone selling price; an event is fulfilled operationally but remains unprocessed in revenue accounting; migrated contract balances cannot be traced to the approved transition reconciliation.
By completion, participants can apply the relevant SAP processes and configuration, explain observed results, correct supported exceptions, and hand over monitored controls that sustain compliant revenue recognition.
