Course Description
Asset Accounting in SAP S/4HANA focuses on the practical decisions required to manage asset structures, master data, acquisitions, depreciation, transfers, retirements, closing, migration, and reporting in SAP S/4HANA. The four lessons move from foundational design through execution and configuration to validation, troubleshooting, and accountable handover.
The scenario features a finance organization standardizing fixed-asset accounting across companies, depreciation requirements, capital acquisitions, transfers, retirements, and period-end controls. Learners develop asset-accounting structure configuration map, asset master and acquisition evidence pack, asset lifecycle and depreciation workbook, and asset close and reconciliation plan while resolving controlled failures covering a depreciation area posts or reports inconsistently with the assigned accounting principle; an acquisition capitalizes to an incorrect asset class, account, or value date; planned depreciation or transfer values differ from the approved accounting treatment; asset reports and general-ledger balances remain inconsistent after closing checks.
On completion, participants can configure asset structures, maintain master data, process the asset lifecycle, calculate depreciation, complete closing, and reconcile asset reporting.
