Course Description
TL112 – Red Hat Transformational Learning: Introduction to Pragmatic Site Reliability Engineering develops practical capability in site reliability engineering principles, service-level indicators, objectives, error budgets, reliability risk, incident learning, toil reduction, observability, and adoption planning.
The learning journey progresses through SRE Principles, Service Ownership, Reliability Risk, and Customer Expectations; SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, Error Budgets, and Reliability Decision-Making; Observability, Incidents, Blameless Learning, Toil, and Automation Opportunities; SRE Adoption, Team Interfaces, Metrics, Governance, and Improvement Roadmap. Each stage connects Red Hat concepts with implementation decisions, security, validation, troubleshooting, and support responsibilities.
Learners work through an operations and development team introducing pragmatic SRE practices for a customer-facing digital service and produce a practical service reliability charter, SLI and SLO register, error-budget policy, and improvement roadmap suitable for implementation review and operational handover.
What You Will Learn
- Explain pragmatic SRE principles and service ownership within a realistic pragmatic site reliability engineering implementation.
- Configure customer-focused reliability risk analysis using clear prerequisites and repeatable Red Hat procedures.
- Apply SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets to a production-focused pragmatic site reliability engineering scenario.
- Validate observability signals and operational evidence with observable evidence and acceptance criteria.
- Troubleshoot incident response and blameless learning through targeted checks and corrective testing.
- Compare toil identification and automation opportunities options and justify the selected approach.
- Document SRE team interfaces and governance for review, support, and operational handover.
- Improve reliability adoption and improvement planning through monitoring, automation, and governance.
