Course Description
DO244 – Developing Applications with Red Hat OpenShift Serverless and Knative develops practical capability in serverless application development with OpenShift Serverless and Knative services, revisions, routing, event sources, brokers, triggers, autoscaling, observability, security, and delivery.
Learners progress through OpenShift Serverless, Knative Architecture, Services, Revisions, and Configuration; Traffic Routing, Rollouts, Autoscaling, Concurrency, and Scale-to-Zero; Knative Eventing, Sources, Brokers, Triggers, Channels, and Event Flow; Security, Observability, Troubleshooting, Integration, and Production Delivery. Each stage connects Red Hat technology with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows a cloud-native team implementing event-driven services that scale to demand on OpenShift and produces a practical Knative service and eventing manifests, routing tests, observability evidence, and serverless delivery guide for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Improve OpenShift Serverless and Knative component architecture through monitoring, exception handling, automation, and review cycles.
- Map services, revisions, configuration, and immutable releases across architecture, roles, dependencies, controls, and evidence.
- Configure traffic splitting and controlled serverless rollouts with reproducible settings and validated prerequisites.
- Execute autoscaling, concurrency, and scale-to-zero behavior and interpret outputs, events, logs, and system behavior.
- Diagnose event sources, brokers, triggers, channels, and CloudEvents through targeted checks, traces, and corrective testing.
- Validate secure service and event integration against security, reliability, governance, and acceptance criteria.
- Compare metrics, logs, and serverless failure diagnosis alternatives and explain operational and technical trade-offs.
- Document production validation and serverless delivery handover using repeatable commands, evidence, ownership, and handover notes.
