Course Description
Red Hat OpenShift Installation Lab (DO322) develops practical capability in OpenShift installation planning and execution across infrastructure, DNS, load balancing, networking, storage, installer methods, customization, validation, and recovery.
Learners progress through Installation Architecture, Infrastructure Prerequisites, DNS, and Load Balancing; Installer-Provisioned and User-Provisioned Installation Workflows; Cluster Customization, Networking, Storage, Operators, and Day-One Configuration; Installation Validation, Failure Analysis, Evidence Collection, and Recovery. Each stage connects Red Hat technology with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows an infrastructure team building a repeatable OpenShift installation for a production-ready platform and produces a practical OpenShift installation plan, infrastructure readiness checklist, installation evidence, and recovery procedure for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Map installation architecture and infrastructure readiness across architecture, roles, dependencies, controls, and evidence.
- Configure DNS, load-balancer, and network prerequisites with reproducible settings and validated prerequisites.
- Execute installer-provisioned and user-provisioned workflows and interpret outputs, events, logs, and system behavior.
- Diagnose bootstrap, control-plane, and compute-node sequencing through targeted checks, traces, and corrective testing.
- Validate cluster networking, storage, and machine-pool customization against security, reliability, governance, and acceptance criteria.
- Compare operator health and day-one configuration acceptance alternatives and explain operational and technical trade-offs.
- Document installation log analysis and failure isolation using repeatable commands, evidence, ownership, and handover notes.
- Improve repeatable recovery, evidence, and operational handover through monitoring, exception handling, automation, and review cycles.
