Course Description
Red Hat System Administration II (RH134) – RHEL 10 develops practical capability in advanced RHEL 10 administration covering shell scripting, scheduling, storage, network services, security, boot recovery, performance, and RHCSA-aligned operational practice.
Learners progress through Shell Scripting, Scheduling, Process Control, and Advanced Command Use; Storage Management with LVM, Stratis, NFS, Autofs, and Swap; Networking, Firewalls, SELinux, SSH, and Service Security; Boot Recovery, Troubleshooting, Performance, and RHCSA Practice. Each stage connects Red Hat technology with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows a systems team hardening and extending a RHEL environment while preparing administrators for independent production support and produces a practical advanced RHEL administration lab book, recovery procedures, security evidence, and RHCSA readiness checklist for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Execute Bash scripting for repeatable administrative work and interpret outputs, events, logs, and system behavior.
- Diagnose scheduled execution with cron and systemd timers through targeted checks, traces, and corrective testing.
- Validate LVM, Stratis, swap, NFS, and autofs administration against security, reliability, governance, and acceptance criteria.
- Compare network profiles, routes, DNS, and service connectivity alternatives and explain operational and technical trade-offs.
- Document firewalld and SELinux configuration for protected services using repeatable commands, evidence, ownership, and handover notes.
- Improve boot troubleshooting and emergency system recovery through monitoring, exception handling, automation, and review cycles.
- Map performance observation and evidence-based diagnosis across architecture, roles, dependencies, controls, and evidence.
- Configure integrated RHCSA administration under operational constraints with reproducible settings and validated prerequisites.
