Course Description
Developing Applications for the Java EE 7 Platform Ed 1 builds practical capability in Java EE 7 architecture, CDI, JPA, EJB, JMS, web technologies, REST/SOAP services, security, testing, and deployment. Learners work within an application team building a transactional enterprise service with web, messaging, persistence, and integration endpoints, linking configuration and process decisions to security, accuracy, availability, and operational ownership.
The learning path moves through Platform Architecture, CDI, and JPA Persistence; EJB Transactions, JMS Messaging, and Business Services; Servlets, JSP, JSF, and WebSocket Interfaces; JAX-RS, JAX-WS, Security, Testing, and Deployment. Every stage produces practical evidence, a validation record, troubleshooting notes, and a reusable handover outcome.
What You Will Learn
- Apply Java EE containers, modules, packaging, lifecycle, dependency boundaries, and deployment descriptors while working through platform architecture, cdi, and jpa persistence.
- Validate CDI scopes, injection, qualifiers, producers, interceptors, decorators, and events and resolve issues involving transaction boundaries, validation, persistence exceptions, and data consistency testing.
- Apply stateless, stateful, singleton, asynchronous, and timer-service EJB patterns while working through ejb transactions, jms messaging, and business services.
- Validate container-managed transactions, propagation, rollback, isolation, and exception semantics and resolve issues involving idempotency, redelivery, poison messages, compensation, and service resilience.
- Apply servlet lifecycle, filters, listeners, sessions, multipart requests, and async processing while working through servlets, jsp, jsf, and websocket interfaces.
- Validate JSP expression language, tag libraries, MVC boundaries, and view safety and resolve issues involving WebSocket endpoints, concurrency, broadcasting, authentication, and browser diagnostics.
- Apply JAX-RS resources, providers, content negotiation, validation, and exception mapping while working through jax-rs, jax-ws, security, testing, and deployment.
- Validate JAX-WS contracts, handlers, SOAP faults, interoperability, and client generation and resolve issues involving Arquillian-style testing, deployment packaging, logging, health checks, and release rollback.
Training Approach
Guided demonstrations, hands-on configuration, scenario analysis, validation checklists, controlled failure testing, troubleshooting, solution review, and a final improvement plan are used throughout Developing Applications for the Java EE 7 Platform Ed 1. Learners document assumptions, settings, outputs, exceptions, corrective actions, rollback needs, and operational responsibilities.
