Course Description
DO007 – Ansible Basics: Automation Technical Overview develops practical capability in Ansible automation concepts, architecture, inventories, ad hoc commands, playbooks, roles, content collections, Automation Platform capabilities, use cases, and adoption governance.
Learners progress through Automation Value, Ansible Architecture, Control Nodes, Managed Nodes, and Use Cases; Inventories, Ad Hoc Commands, Playbooks, Tasks, Modules, and Idempotence; Roles, Collections, Automation Platform, Controller, Hub, and Execution Environments; Adoption Planning, Governance, Skills, Security, Metrics, and Roadmap. Each stage connects Red Hat technology with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows an IT leadership and engineering group evaluating Ansible for a standardized enterprise automation program and produces a practical Ansible adoption brief, prioritized use-case register, governance outline, and implementation roadmap for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Compare enterprise automation value and suitable use cases alternatives and explain operational and technical trade-offs.
- Document Ansible control-node and managed-node architecture using repeatable commands, evidence, ownership, and handover notes.
- Improve inventories, ad hoc commands, and connectivity concepts through monitoring, exception handling, automation, and review cycles.
- Map playbooks, tasks, modules, and idempotent behavior across architecture, roles, dependencies, controls, and evidence.
- Configure roles, collections, and reusable automation content with reproducible settings and validated prerequisites.
- Execute Automation Platform controller, hub, and execution environments and interpret outputs, events, logs, and system behavior.
- Diagnose security, skills, governance, and adoption constraints through targeted checks, traces, and corrective testing.
- Validate prioritized automation roadmap and success measures against security, reliability, governance, and acceptance criteria.
