Course Description
Red Hat Security: Linux in Physical, Virtual, and Cloud (RH415) develops practical capability in RHEL security hardening across physical, virtual, and cloud systems using policy, automation, encryption, authentication, SELinux, audit, compliance, vulnerability, and incident controls.
Learners progress through Security Strategy, Risk, Baselines, Ansible Hardening, and Access Control; Encryption, LUKS, NBDE, PAM, Authentication, and Credential Protection; SELinux, Audit, OpenSCAP, Integrity, Logging, and Compliance Evidence; Satellite, Insights, Vulnerability Response, Incident Handling, and Improvement. Each stage connects Red Hat technology with implementation decisions, operational controls, troubleshooting, and reviewable evidence.
The learning journey follows a security engineering team establishing a consistent RHEL protection baseline across hybrid infrastructure and produces a practical RHEL security baseline, automated hardening playbooks, compliance evidence, and remediation roadmap for implementation and operational use.
What You Will Learn
- Diagnose hybrid RHEL security strategy and risk-based baselines through targeted checks, traces, and corrective testing.
- Validate automated hardening and configuration evidence against security, reliability, governance, and acceptance criteria.
- Compare disk encryption, NBDE, and protected key handling alternatives and explain operational and technical trade-offs.
- Document PAM, authentication, and privileged-access controls using repeatable commands, evidence, ownership, and handover notes.
- Improve SELinux, audit, integrity, and centralized logging through monitoring, exception handling, automation, and review cycles.
- Map OpenSCAP assessment and compliance remediation across architecture, roles, dependencies, controls, and evidence.
- Configure Satellite, Insights, and vulnerability response workflows with reproducible settings and validated prerequisites.
- Execute incident handling, retesting, and security improvement and interpret outputs, events, logs, and system behavior.
