Course Description

PeopleSoft PeopleCode provides a structured path through PeopleCode syntax, data types, variables, operators, Records, fields, rowsets. Participants learn to translate business requirements into controlled Oracle setup, executable processes, meaningful evidence, and clearly owned operational outcomes.

Later lessons examine SQLExec, CreateSQL, file handling, application packages, Debugging, tracing, error handling. Learners create and review event execution map and tested PeopleCode unit, component-buffer traversal exercise and data-state trace, application-class implementation and integration test evidence, PeopleCode quality report and migration-ready change package, so configuration, data, integration, security, and operational issues can be separated instead of being treated as one generic failure.

On completing the course, learners can defend the design and operation of maintainable PeopleCode that respects the Component Processor, manipulates PeopleSoft data safely, integrates services, and can be debugged without destabilizing delivered behaviour. A final action plan records owners, acceptance gaps, monitoring needs, rollback considerations, and service improvements.

What You Will Learn

• Explain how PeopleCode syntax, data types, and variables establish the operating foundation and shape later configuration decisions.
• Configure operators, functions, built-in objects, events, execution context, and Component Processor flow, then confirm readiness through event execution map and tested PeopleCode unit rather than relying on screen messages alone.
• Execute a controlled workflow covering Records, fields, and rowsets, preserving input traceability, approvals, and the resulting changes.

• Investigate custom logic passing a happy-path test but failing after a delivered component change by reviewing Debugging, tracing, and error handling before applying a reversible fix.
• Prepare PeopleCode quality report and migration-ready change package that demonstrates performance, security, upgrade-safe customization, code review, testing, and migration and supports handover, monitoring, and the next improvement decision.
