Course Description
Oracle SCM Cloud: Planning Foundation develops applied skills across Oracle SCM planning architecture, common setup, data collection, planning dimensions, measures, demand and supply concepts, work areas, security, analytics, and readiness. Learners work within a new planning implementation team establishing the common data and operating model required by Oracle SCM planning applications, linking configuration and process decisions to security, accuracy, availability, and operational ownership.
The course progresses through Planning Architecture, Common Setup, and Data Collection; Items, Organizations, Calendars, Measures, and Hierarchies; Demand/Supply Plan Concepts, Runs, and Work Areas; Security, Analytics, Data Quality, and Operational Readiness. Every stage produces practical evidence, a validation record, troubleshooting notes, and a reusable handover outcome.
What You Will Learn
- Apply Oracle SCM planning applications, work areas, plan types, and integration boundaries while working through planning architecture, common setup, and data collection.
- Validate source systems, collection methods, refresh options, scheduled processes, and dependencies and resolve issues involving collection errors, incomplete setup, refresh status, and environment validation.
- Apply items, item organizations, categories, catalogs, lifecycle, and planning attributes while working through items, organizations, calendars, measures, and hierarchies.
- Validate organization networks, suppliers, customers, locations, and sourcing relationships and resolve issues involving data-security context, missing members, inconsistent hierarchies, and correction.
- Apply demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, replenishment, and planning-central concepts while working through demand/supply plan concepts, runs, and work areas.
- Validate plan scope, options, time horizon, demand sources, supply sources, and constraints and resolve issues involving result interpretation, drill-down, pegging concepts, and basic troubleshooting.
- Apply job roles, data access, planner assignments, segregation, and least privilege while working through security, analytics, data quality, and operational readiness.
- Validate OTBI/planning analytics, KPIs, exceptions, exports, and decision support and resolve issues involving test scripts, cutover checklist, schedules, monitoring, support, and governance.
Training Approach
Guided demonstrations, hands-on configuration, scenario analysis, validation checklists, controlled failure testing, troubleshooting, solution review, and a final improvement plan are used throughout Oracle SCM Cloud: Planning Foundation. Learners document assumptions, settings, outputs, exceptions, corrective actions, rollback needs, and operational responsibilities.
