Course Description
Oracle Database 19c: Multitenant Architecture strengthens delivery and support capability in CDB/PDB architecture, provisioning, cloning, relocation, security, backup, recovery, resource management, patching, upgrades, and fleet operations. Learners work within a database team consolidating application databases into a governed Oracle 19c multitenant estate, linking configuration and process decisions to security, accuracy, availability, and operational ownership.
The curriculum is arranged around CDB/PDB Architecture, Services, and Storage; Create, Clone, Relocate, and Refresh PDBs; Security, Backup, Recovery, and Resource Management; Data Movement, Upgrades, Performance, and Fleet Operations. Every stage produces practical evidence, a validation record, troubleshooting notes, and a reusable handover outcome.
What You Will Learn
- Apply multitenant components, root, seed, application containers, PDBs, and containers while working through cdb/pdb architecture, services, and storage.
- Validate common/local users, services, sessions, containers, and administration context and resolve issues involving data dictionary views, open modes, saved state, startup, and architecture validation.
- Apply create from seed, unplug/plug, XML manifests, compatibility, and file placement while working through create, clone, relocate, and refresh pdbs.
- Validate hot clone, refreshable clone, snapshot copy, sparse copy, and storage dependencies and resolve issues involving provisioning errors, name conflicts, violations, and post-clone verification.
- Apply common/local privileges, roles, lockdown profiles, keystores, and auditing while working through security, backup, recovery, and resource management.
- Validate RMAN backup scope, PDB recovery, point-in-time recovery, and dropped PDB scenarios and resolve issues involving security validation, recovery drills, service restoration, and evidence capture.
- Apply Data Pump, transportable methods, cross-platform movement, and application containers while working through data movement, upgrades, performance, and fleet operations.
- Validate patching, datapatch, upgrade paths, compatibility, and PDB plug-in violations and resolve issues involving fleet standards, naming, automation, lifecycle records, rollback, and handover.
Training Approach
Guided demonstrations, hands-on configuration, scenario analysis, validation checklists, controlled failure testing, troubleshooting, solution review, and a final improvement plan are used throughout Oracle Database 19c: Multitenant Architecture. Learners document assumptions, settings, outputs, exceptions, corrective actions, rollback needs, and operational responsibilities.
