Course Description
Oracle Coherence 12c: Share and Manage Data in Clusters Ed 1.1 develops applied skills across Oracle Coherence cluster architecture, distributed caching, data access, processing, events, persistence, federation, security, capacity, and recovery. Learners work within a platform team designing a resilient distributed cache for high-volume customer and transaction workloads, linking configuration and process decisions to security, accuracy, availability, and operational ownership.
The course progresses through Cluster Architecture, Services, and Cache Topologies; Data Access, Serialization, Queries, and Aggregation; Events, Entry Processors, Persistence, and Federation; Security, Capacity, Performance, and Failure Recovery. Every stage produces practical evidence, a validation record, troubleshooting notes, and a reusable handover outcome.
What You Will Learn
- Apply cluster discovery, members, roles, services, partitions, ownership, and backups while working through cluster architecture, services, and cache topologies.
- Validate distributed, replicated, near, local, continuous-query, and read-through cache patterns and resolve issues involving membership changes, partition movement, service health, and topology verification.
- Apply NamedCache and NamedMap access patterns, concurrency, locking, and consistency while working through data access, serialization, queries, and aggregation.
- Validate POF serialization, evolvable types, indexes, extractors, and object compatibility and resolve issues involving latency measurement, serialization failures, query plans, and result validation.
- Apply map listeners, interceptors, events, triggers, and event-ordering considerations while working through events, entry processors, persistence, and federation.
- Validate entry processors, server-side mutation, atomicity, batching, and contention reduction and resolve issues involving federation topology, conflict behavior, network interruption, and reconciliation.
- Apply cluster security, identity, authorization, TLS, access policy, and secret handling while working through security, capacity, performance, and failure recovery.
- Validate capacity planning, partition count, backup count, storage roles, and heap sizing and resolve issues involving member loss, site loss, split conditions, recovery drills, and support runbooks.
Training Approach
Guided demonstrations, hands-on configuration, scenario analysis, validation checklists, controlled failure testing, troubleshooting, solution review, and a final improvement plan are used throughout Oracle Coherence 12c: Share and Manage Data in Clusters Ed 1.1. Learners document assumptions, settings, outputs, exceptions, corrective actions, rollback needs, and operational responsibilities.
